Trane “Wrote The Book” On A/C

Dec 27, 2017 | Blog

Typically, when someone says they “wrote the book on something” they’re identified as the authority of that topic, or they know enough to write the definitive book on it. And Trane did just that. Trane literally wrote the book for air conditioning– Trane Air Conditioning Manual.

A Book That Knows It All

The Trane Air Conditioning Manual is used by many; students use it as a comprehensive textbook, and professionals use it as a valuable source and reference book. This book covers the fundamentals, as well as the practical application of air conditioning. The first edition was published in 1938, just 7 years after Trane patented its first air conditioner. Since then, it’s been revised 5 times to keep pace with fast moving technical advances in the industry.

Will a Frozen A/C Fix Itself?

It’s easy to joke that an air conditioning unit able to encase itself in ice during a Florida summer should have no problem keeping things cold. Unfortunately, being stuck in the sweltering heat and humidity even for a day is no laughing matter. We’ll go over how to tell if your A/C is frozen and what to do if it freezes.

Reasons HVAC Systems Lose Efficiency

Outdoor heat is not the only thing that can cause your air conditioning to lose efficiency. Here we’ll go over other reasons HVAC systems lose efficiency and may be costing more in utility bills than it should be.

Ductless Mini-Split A/C vs. Central Air Conditioning

Ductless Mini-Split A/C systems are all the rage right now, and we can see why. They’re energy efficient, they allow for customized temperatures in different rooms of your house, they don’t require ductwork, and they’re very, very quiet. Sounds great, right? But mini-splits aren’t right for everyone and they’re certainly not one-size-fits-all. We’ll dive into where, when, and why you should get a mini-split vs. a traditional air conditioning system.
