How a generator repair visit works
A technician starts at the controller: what it's showing now, and the fault history behind it. Then the battery, the fuel supply and the transfer switch. We tell you what's wrong and what the fix involves before we do it.
Most generator repairs are finished in one visit, because our trucks and our Bradenton shop carry common Kohler parts. If a part has to be ordered, we'll tell you that up front and come back to finish.

Our repairs are partly flat-rate and partly time-and-materials. We prefer time and materials where it fits, because you pay for exactly what the job took, not a price padded to cover the worst case. Larger repairs are quoted in writing before any work starts.

Any make, whoever installed it
We install Kohler only. We sell Kohler because, in our experience, it stands up much better in our coastal environment. But we service all makes and models of home standby generators, including Generac and units we didn't install.
If we installed it, we already have its history. If we didn't, you don't need paperwork: we start from the unit in front of us. You don't have to replace a working generator to get somebody competent to look after it.
Repair or replace? An honest answer
Not every repair makes sense. If your unit is older, has high hours, or needs a major component, we'll tell you plainly whether repairing it or replacing it is the better use of your money. We won't push a new unit on you while yours has life left, and we won't sink money into a repair that won't hold.

Look at the controller. If it shows a fault code, write it down or take a photo, and check that the generator is set to AUTO. Beyond that, leave it to a technician and call us at (941) 778-0773.
The generator runs, but my house has no power. Why?
That usually points to the transfer switch, the part that moves your house between utility power and the generator. It's a repair call, not a do-it-yourself job.
